Baseball Recap: Live Oak Comes Up Short

Live Oak has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They fell 12-9 to the Lutcher Bulldogs. That makes it the first time this season the Eagles have let down their home crowd.

Rezin Lindsay was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had over his last six contests.

At the plate, Brock Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Mac Beadle, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Lutcher, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Live Oak will take on Walker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lutcher, they will host West Feliciana at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
