Basketball Recap: Ponderosa Comes Up Short

Ponderosa lost against Woodcreek back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Ponderosa Bruins had to suffer through a 72-40 loss at the hands of the Woodcreek Timberwolves. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ponderosa lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nathan Whelan, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Ben Bailey, who earned five points and 11 boards.

Woodcreek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristian Lattimore, who went 7 for 9 en route to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Lattimore a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Yukawa, who had 12 points and four steals.

Ponderosa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Woodcreek, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-5.

Ponderosa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-68 loss against Bella Vista on the 29th. As for Woodcreek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-47 win against Rio Americano on the 29th.
