Volleyball Game Preview: Exeter Tigers vs. Galena Bears

Exeter is 0-10 against Galena since September of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will challenge the Bears at 6:00 p.m.

Exeter came up short against Southwest last Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Galena waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Galena was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-16, 25-18.

Exeter better focus on containing Chloe Simpson and Mel Rice as the pair were huge in Galena's win. Simpson had 14 assists and four digs, while Rice had 12 kills and 12 digs. Rice has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 26 times she's played.

Galena was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 12-1-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Exeter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-1. As for Galena, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10-3.

Exeter couldn't quite get it done against Galena in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
