Baseball Recap: Klamath Union Pelicans vs. Henley Hornets
Klamath Union extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-8 in the process. They came up short against the Henley Hornets, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-2 defeat on Wednesday.
As for Henley, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
For Henley's part, Mark Carpenter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Carpenter has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
