Baseball Recap: West Salem Takes a Loss

If West Salem was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Arcadia last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Black River Falls Tigers on Monday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Parker Demorest made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

West Salem's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Black River Falls, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Salem will face off against Wisconsin Dells at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Black River Falls, they will take on Nekoosa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
