Baseball Game Preview: Higley Knights vs. Desert Ridge Jaguars

For the second straight game, Higley will face off against Desert Ridge. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Higley hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Last Tuesday, Higley came up short against Desert Ridge and fell 7-2.

For Desert Ridge's part, Andrew Bromley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Bromley a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Desert Ridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Gamboa, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Desert Ridge's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-11. As for Higley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
