Suggested Video

Concord is 1-9 against Warsaw since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Minutemen will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Concord is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Jimtown on Friday. They fell just short of the Jimmies by a score of 2-1.

Concord saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Flores, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Flores has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Warsaw waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against Peru by a score of 12-7. That's two games straight that Warsaw has won by exactly five runs.

Brock Bowser looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hunter Dippon was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Kim, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Warsaw always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peru only posted an OBP of .353.

Warsaw's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Concord, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Concord has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Warsaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Concord might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Warsaw in their previous matchup last Monday. Can the Minutemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
