Softball Recap: Eldon Escapes with a Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Eldon nor Mid-Buchanan made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dragons 5-3.

Eldon saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Jeffries, who went 1-for-2 while logging 2 stolen bases, 1 run, and 1 walk.

Eldon has been performing well recently, winning four of their last five games. That run has powered them to a 5-4 record this season. As for Mid-Buchanan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eldon will host Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mid-Buchanan, they will play host again on Saturday to welcome Camdenton, where first pitch is scheduled at 12:30 p.m.
