Soccer Game Preview: Marcus vs. Flower Mound

The Marcus Marauders will take on the Flower Mound Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Marcus is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Guyer, who was ranked 18th at the time (Marcus was ranked 20th). The Marauders fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Marcus' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Flower Mound waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Bengals a 12-0 shutout. Flower Mound might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Braswell from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Katie Pinto led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Marcus' defeat dropped their record down to 14-4-2. As for Flower Mound, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4-3.

Marcus got the 'W' in their previous meeting on February 3rd against Flower Mound by a conclusive 5-2 score. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
