Volleyball Recap: Starlin Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Princeton over Loyalton

Princeton was the 3-0 winner over Loyalton when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 3-2 on Monday.

Princeton actually scored more points across those five sets (102-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 12-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

Princeton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Starlin Smith, who had 12 digs and six aces. Another player making a difference was Reyna Sullivan, who had nine kills, seven aces, and three digs.

Princeton's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Loyalton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, Princeton will square off against Westwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Loyalton, they will face off against Chester at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
