Basketball Recap: Marana Piles Up the Points Against Rincon/University

Marana won the last time they faced Rincon/University and things went their way on Friday too. The Marana Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rincon/University Rangers 80-51. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

Marana is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Rincon/University, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marana will face off against Sunnyside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marana knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 games -- so hopefully Sunnyside likes a good challenge. As for Rincon/University, they will square off against Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tucson High Magnet School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.
