Baseball Recap: Fort Kent Comes Up Short

Fort Kent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Caribou Vikings, falling 12-2. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Fort Kent saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wil Morneault, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Caleb Caron also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Fort Kent's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Caribou, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Kent will host Southern Aroostook at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Caribou, they will be playing at home against Ellsworth at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
