Volleyball Recap: Childress Comes Up Short

Childress was the 3-2 winner over Vernon when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats fell 3-1 to the Lions on Tuesday. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Childress started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-19.

Journey Prince paced Childress' offense, picking up 21 kills. Prince got some help from Sara Davis and her 16 assists. Prince also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Harley Carrasco, racking up two apiece.

Childress' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Vernon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Childress will take on Shamrock at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vernon, they will venture away from home to face off against Gainesville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
