Soccer Recap: Roncalli Catholic Takes a Loss

Roncalli Catholic fought the good fight in their overtime game against Gross Catholic on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Roncalli Catholic have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Jordan Martinez, who's now up to nine this season.

Roncalli Catholic is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Gross Catholic, Mount Michael Benedictine, and Mount Michael Benedictine. As for the Cougars, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Roncalli Catholic is set to challenge their familiar foe Mount Michael Benedictine at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The match will give Roncalli Catholic their first taste of in-conference action this season. Meanwhile, Gross Catholic will take on rival Ralston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
