Basketball Recap: James Lee's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Joliet Central over Mahomet-Seymour

Joliet Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Steelmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 585th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 231st).

Several Steelmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Lee, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bernal Fox, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they moved to 5-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Joliet Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-35 defeat against Addison Trail on the 28th. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 74-69 loss against Dunlap on the 28th.
