Recap: Rolesville Rams vs. Wake Forest Cougars

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Rolesville Rams had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 49-13 victory over Wake Forest. The win was familiar territory for Rolesville who now have ten in a row.

Leading Rolesville to victory were Jaedon Alford and Braden Atkinson. Alford picked up 177 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Atkinson threw for 371 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.4% of his passes. Alford has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more receiving yards the last nine times he's played. Gavin Waddell also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.

Rolesville's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 12-1 Butler and 11-2 Cardinal Gibbons (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56.3% over those games). As for Wake Forest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Rolesville has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Fuquay - Varina at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Fuquay - Varina will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Rolesville is ranked seventh). Wake Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
