Baseball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fayette Academy on Friday, Covington came back down to earth. The Chargers fell just short of the Lakeland Preparatory Lions by a score of 2-1 on Monday.

Covington now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Lakeland Preparatory, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covington will host Evangelical Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Memphis Business Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Execs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
