Baseball Recap: Terrell Comes Up Short

Terrell extended their losing streak to 19 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-22 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kaufman Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since March 6th.

As for Kaufman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Kaufman's part, Brayden Gomez was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Gomez a new career-high. Rolando Cantu was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terrell will head out to face off against Midlothian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kaufman, they will venture away from home to square off against Midlothian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
