Baseball Recap: Clay Beats Bishop Kenny for Their Fifth Straight Win

It's playoff time, and Clay had no trouble coming through when it counted. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bishop Kenny Crusaders 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Rylan McMahan tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, JC Rosette was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Merrick Rapoza, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Clay lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.

Clay's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Bishop Kenny, they dropped their record down to 7-20 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Clay will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Crusaders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
