Basketball Recap: Otis-Bison Comes Up Short

Otis-Bison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the Victoria Knights. The Cougars lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 67-38 score last time.

Zoey Schwindt and Shaelyn Richmeier certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Schwindt posted six points and eight rebounds, while Richmeier had a point.

Even though they lost, Otis-Bison smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Otis-Bison's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Victoria, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Otis-Bison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-37 victory against Kinsley on the 14th. As for Victoria, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-25 win against Golden Plains on the 14th.
