Amarillo and Lubbock-Cooper are an even 4-4-1 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long. The Amarillo Sandies will welcome the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Amarillo fell victim to Monterey and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainsmen. The loss continues a trend for the Sandies in their meetings with the Plainsmen: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite a strong season so far, Lubbock-Cooper has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Monterey. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Plainsmen are ranked 27th).

Lubbock-Cooper's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5-3. As for Amarillo, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8-2.
