Volleyball Recap: Madison Has No Trouble Against Austin

Madison's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Austin Mustangs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Marlins as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Madison was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-15, 25-13.

Coryn Fields paced Madison's offense, picking up 12 kills. Fields got some help from Maci Odums and her 16 assists. Fields also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Isabella Martinez, racking up two apiece.

Madison's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Madison is set to face off against their familiar foe Westbury at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Austin will square off against rival Sterling at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
