Football Recap: Firebaugh Falls Short of Orosi in the Playoffs

Firebaugh and Orosi squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Firebaugh had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Cardinals and fell 42-7. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jason De La Cruz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Orosi, rushing for 286 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns De La Cruz has posted since back in September.

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Orosi, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Firebaugh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orosi, they will be playing at home against Mira Monte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: De La Cruz and Nathan Gonzales.
