Norfolk Catholic strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Battle Creek Braves. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23.

Norfolk Catholic's offense was headlined by Ava Wemhoff and Hayden Brummer, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Sidonia Wattier and her 18 assists. Finally, Anslee Watters kept Norfolk Catholic's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Battle Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaidyn Smutny, who had 15 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Norfolk Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Battle Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Coming up, Norfolk Catholic will challenge Cedar Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Battle Creek, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] on the 11th.
