Burney and Los Molinos are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2018, but not for long. The Raiders will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Burney's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Los Molinos has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Thursday, Burney got the win against Butte Valley by a conclusive 3-0.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Burney took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-14.

Burney got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ciera Wilson out in front who had 38 digs and two aces. Those 38 digs gave Wilson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Witzel, who had 20 digs, five kills, three aces, and two blocks.
They weren't the only good servers: Burney was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They are 6-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Los Molinos came up short against Redding Christian on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered against the Lions since September 13, 2022.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-8, 25-12.
Burney now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Los Molinos, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
Burney suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Los Molinos in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
