Recap: Georgia-Cumberland Academy Jaguar vs. Shenandoah Valley Academy Stars
This season hasn't been kind to the Georgia-Cumberland Academy Jaguar, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were beaten by Shenandoah Valley Academy 77-48 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Georgia-Cumberland Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 575th in Georgia, while Shenandoah Valley Academy is ranked 173rd in Virginia).
Avery Browne was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with five steals for Shenandoah Valley Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Browne has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonothan Pelote, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Georgia-Cumberland Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Shenandoah Valley Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Georgia-Cumberland Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Dalton Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Shenandoah Valley Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hinsdale Adventist Academy at 10:45 a.m. on January 14th.
