Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin let Milford stack four runs on them in the third inning on Friday but luckily Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin prevailed anyway. The Blue Devils walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Bearcats.

CADEN KELEMINIC made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 6-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). KELEMINIC was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CRUZ DUBOIS, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was CHAZ DUBOIS, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Hoopeston made easy work of Schlarman on Friday and carried off an 8-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cornjerkers.
Hoopeston got a massive performance out of Nick Cardenas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave Cardenas a new career-high. Fletcher Swartz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Hoopeston, their victory bumped their record up to 7-15.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin came out on top in a nail-biter against Hoopeston in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cornjerkers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
