Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Marana Tigers

Mountain View and Marana are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Mountain View Mountain Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Marana Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Mountain View strolled past Flowing Wells with points to spare, taking the game 63-49.

It was another big night for Isaiah Romero, who went 11 of 20 en route to 26 points and seven assists. Those seven assists gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Cramblit, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Marana came up short against Ironwood Ridge on Friday and fell 65-58. The Tigers have struggled against the Nighthawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Marana, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Mountain View didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Marana when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 67-62 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mountain View since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
