Softball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 17-11 to the Douglass Astros. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Astros this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-8 back in August.

Jada Bady stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ayonna Carvajal, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Riverdale now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Douglass, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Riverdale will challenge rival Cedar Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Douglass is set to take on their familiar foe Mt. Zion at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
