Baseball Recap: Tri-County RVT Triumphs

Tri-County RVT lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Shore Vo-Tech, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the game before.

Dylan Maw was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Sullivan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Fred Gillett also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Tri-County RVT was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Tri-County RVT back to even at 2-2. As for South Shore Vo-Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Tri-County RVT will venture away from home to challenge Assabet Valley RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Shore Vo-Tech, they will head out to take on Hull at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
