Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for New Iberia

New Iberia hadn't done well against Acadiana recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets came out on top against the Rams by a score of 6-1. The victory was nothing new for the Yellowjackets as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brennan Laporte spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, New Iberia got a big performance out of Myles Jones, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Nathan Leblanc also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

New Iberia's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Acadiana, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.

New Iberia will have a chance to go back-to-back against Acadiana: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
