Volleyball Recap: Shepard's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Shepard entered their tilt with Blue Island Eisenhower on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Cardinals. The Astros have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Shepard took both sets by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12.

Oliver Bilik paced Shepard's offense, picking up six kills. Bilik got some help from Conor Harkala and his 17 assists. Finally, David Mietus kept Shepard's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Shepard's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shepard will host Argo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Argonauts will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Astros surely won't give up without a fight. As for Blue Island Eisenhower, they will be playing at home against Oak Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
