Softball Preview: Central Catholic Raiders vs. Oakdale Mustangs
The Central Catholic Raiders will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Oakdale Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. Central Catholic will be looking to keep their 15-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
Central Catholic lost 14-6 to Pioneer on Friday.
Samantha Nichols made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmarie Roberts, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Oakdale narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Manteca 3-1.
Raegen Everett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Presley Barnes was excellent, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
