Softball Recap: Parrish Community Falls Short of Pace in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Parrish Community can now relate to. They fell just short of the Pace Patriots by a score of 2-0 on Friday. Considering the last time the Bulls couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Emmaline Van Beck was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

With the loss, Parrish Community broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 26-4. As for Pace, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Parrish Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pace, they will face off against Doral Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Firebirds will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
