Soccer Game Preview: Nixon vs. Mission Veterans Memorial

The Nixon Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Nixon came up short against Palmview and fell 6-4. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Lobos recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mission Veterans Memorial beat Mission 4-2 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Stella Venecia and Jasmine Ramirez scored all four of Mission Veterans Memorial's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Nixon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season.

Nixon might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Mission Veterans Memorial in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Nixon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
