While Brennan put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Sotomayor. The Brennan Bears simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sotomayor WILDCATS 38-0 at home. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the WILDCATS are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Micai Thompson had a dynamite game for Brennan, rushing for 204 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Thompson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Donivin Lard also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brennan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted was before the start of last season.
Brennan now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sotomayor, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Brennan will head out on the road to face off against Harlan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brennan is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Sotomayor, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against O'Connor at 7:30 p.m.
