Preview: Milton-Union Bulldogs vs. Covington Buccs

Milton-Union has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Covington Buccs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Milton-Union can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-20 win over Dayton Christian. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-4.

Milton-Union can attribute much of their success to Jenna Brumbaugh, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Shannon Brumbaugh, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brumbaugh has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Layman, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Covington took a 23-point loss the last time they faced off against Northridge, but they managed to turn things around on Saturday. Covington came out on top in a nail-biter against Northridge and snuck past 52-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Covington.

Milton-Union is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Covington, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

Things could have been worse for Milton-Union, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-30 loss to Covington when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Milton-Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
