Baseball Recap: Lawrence Takes a Loss

The matchup between Lawrence and Athens on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Tigers lost 17-2 to the Indians. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Lawrence saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karter Everhart, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that Everhart has hit this season.

Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 3-24. As for Athens, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence will challenge Heritage Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens, they will face off against Morenci at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
