Climax-Scotts had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Burr Oak Bobcats a 17-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Gavin Eyre was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Kasey Carman was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Climax-Scotts always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burr Oak only posted an OBP of .182.

Climax-Scotts' victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Burr Oak, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Climax-Scotts will take on Frankfort at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Burr Oak, they will face off against North Adams-Jerome at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
