Preview: Roxbury Gaels vs. Mount Olive Marauders
Roxbury is on a eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Mount Olive is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Roxbury Gaels will take on the Mount Olive Marauders at TBD on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
With a playoff game on the line, Roxbury rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Irvington and snuck past 15-12.
Meanwhile, Mount Olive sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 30-28 victory over Sayreville on Friday.
Among those leading the charge was Jake Asbury, who rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 98 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Cumming and his 111 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Mount Olive's victory.
Their wins bumped Roxbury to 11-0 and Mount Olive to 10-1.
Roxbury came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Olive in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 10-7. Will Roxbury repeat their success, or does Mount Olive have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
