Softball Recap: Parma Beats Ontario for Their 13th Straight Win

Parma had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Ontario Tigers a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 13 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Parma let Kinlea Cole and Kylie Britton run wild. Cole went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Britton went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Britton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Poppy Nichols, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Parma lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Parma's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Ontario, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Parma will square off against Vision at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vision has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.91 runs per game on average), something Parma will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ontario, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pendleton at 2:00 p.m.
