Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence's tournament run continued when they took on Caldwell Academy on Tuesday. The Patriots fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-8. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alfred Seaman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Chipper Hamrick was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Caldwell Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-11 record.

Looking ahead, Independence will welcome Providence Day at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Caldwell Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ballantyne Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
