Basketball Recap: Gulf's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gulf entered their tilt with Palm Harbor University on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 52-34 win over the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaydn Wood, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Curtis Scriven, who went 6 of 8 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Gulf pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Palm Harbor University, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Gulf will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bayshore Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Palm Harbor University and Olentangy will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Olentangy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
