Softball Recap: Emerson Comes Up Short

Emerson lost against Ramsey back in March of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cavaliers took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Sophia Centeno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emerson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Schumeyer, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Emerson's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Ramsey, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Emerson will welcome New Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ramsey, they will be playing at home against Academy of the Holy A at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
