Softball Recap: Monroe County Falcons vs. Warren Central Dragons
Monroe County barely beat Warren Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went the Monroe County Falcons' way against the Warren Central Dragons on Tuesday as the Monroe County Falcons made off with a 10-3 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Bryna Cain made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Cain was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Cain is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Jazoya Bennett was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Layni England was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
