Ocosta is 9-1 against Northwest Christian since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. Ocosta is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Ocosta blew Oakville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Oakville got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Acorns by a score of 9-7. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly two runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northwest Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Pope John Paul II by a score of 10-5 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Joseph Meier made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Cox, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brent Coffman, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Northwest Christian pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Ocosta, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
