Volleyball Recap: North Branch Falls Short Against Ranked Brighton

North Branch faced Brighton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Broncos fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Broncos' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Aubree Deshetsky paced North Branch's offense, picking up 13 kills. Deshetsky got some help from Kylie Doherty and her 18 assists. Allysse Deshetsky controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

North Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 21-3. As for Brighton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-4-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, North Branch and Brighton will both be playing Mercy the next time they take the court. The Broncos will head out to face the Marlins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
