Baseball Recap: Etiwanda Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Etiwanda's victory against Upland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Highlanders/Scots 3-2 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Jaxson Milius looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Jaeden Toki was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Derick Kim, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Etiwanda now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Upland, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-20.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Etiwanda is set to face off against their familiar foe Los Osos at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.4, the Grizzlies 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Upland will take on rival Chino Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
