Basketball Recap: Mason Heap's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tooele over Jordan

Tooele lost against Jordan back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tooele Buffaloes fell 68-58 to the Jordan Beetdiggers. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Heap, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 19 points. Grady Symonds was another key player, going 6 of 11 en route to 12 points.

Jordan was led to victory by Holden Warnick and Mason Tolley. Warnick went 7 for 13 on his way to 19 points and four steals, while Tolley went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Ostler, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Tooele's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Jordan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Tooele and Jordan could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings. Tooele (ranked 121st) will meet Cottonwood (ranked 30th) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jordan (ranked 87th) will meet Hillcrest (ranked 34th) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
