After a string of five wins, Gateway Charter's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. The contest between them and the Canterbury Cougars didn't end well, with the Gateway Charter Griffins falling 56-37. The Griffins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Gateway Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ashanti Taylor, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiari Church, who had ten points.

Gateway Charter's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Canterbury, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
